Fugro are pleased to announce that we have taken delivery of a new FALCON airborne gravity gradiometer (AGG) from Lockheed Martin of Niagara, USA. The FALCON technology is exclusive to Fugro and provides the world’s most accurate and highest resolution airborne gravity data.
The new FALCON AGG has been named Cavendish, after the inventor of the Cavendish balance, an early form of instrument that measured gravity gradients. Cavendish joins Fugro’s four other FALCON AGGs (Einstein, Newton, Galileo and Feynman) and will allow us to provide additional capacity to our customers in both fixed-wing and heli-borne FALCON surveys. FALCON AGG surveys are used in exploration for minerals, water and oil and gas.
Three quarters of all Airborne Gravity Gradiometer surveys flown worldwide are FALCON surveys.
