From a diverse range of fixed-wing (airplane) and helicopter
platforms, Fugro Airborne Surveys acquires electromagnetic, magnetic, radiometric
and gravity data. These highly specialised remote sensing capabilities are critical
to the subsurface exploration needs of the mining, oil & gas, engineering
and environmental industries.
An Overview of Airborne Geophysics
Introduction
Fugro Airborne Surveys sets the standard
for airborne electromagnetic surveys with an exclusive suite of fixed wing and
helicopter digital time domain systems and digital frequency domain systems,
supported by advanced data processing and imaging techniques.
Services
Survey Planning
Our staff of over 100 professional geophysicists,
located in all corners of the globe, are available to help you determine how
our surveys can assist your exploration or engineering project. We work to learn about your project and understand your requirements
in order to assist you with obtaining your survey objectives and the best possible
solution. Critical information gathered includes purpose of survey, specifics
of area to be surveyed, type of target, estimated depth to target, background
geophysical information, field and final products required and scheduling requirements. We provide assistance in determining appropriate flight line separation
and direction, instrumentation to be employed, co-ordination with local authorities,
safety issues and more. Once an appreciation
of your survey needs has been determined, our experts can offer a wealth of
knowledge and experience to ensure that the most appropriate and best technology
Fugro Airborne Surveys has to offer is employed in the data acquisition phases.
Data Acquisition
At the forefront of Fugro Airborne Surveys'
airborne electromagnetic market leadership are the industry-standard GEOTEM and DIGHEM systems, as well as the powerful, high altitude MEGATEM and versatile TEMPEST systems, both of which are opening up new exploration opportunities
and applications. More recently, we have introduced the HeliGEOTEM system. The primary exploration
technologies offered by the group are airborne electromagnetics, magnetics,
radiometrics and gravity.
Products
Fugro Airborne Surveys has flown and processed
data from thousands of airborne geophysical surveys throughout the world - from
base, precious metal and petroleum exploration to environmental and engineering
applications. State-of-the-art hardware and software represent only a portion
of our data processing capabilities. Fugro
Airborne Surveys' staff of experienced and knowledgeable geophysicists process
and interpret the data and take pride in their hands-on attention to detail
and thoroughness.
These
processing teams are backed by sophisticated and totally integrated in-house
facilities for image processing of geophysical data, CAD data capture, map production,
3D modeling and products, GIS merging and analysis of digital spatial datasets.
This range of skills provides a unique "one-stop"
approach to the management of environmental, mineral and oil exploration programs.
Integration of information from complementary
datasets is a powerful part of the Fugro Airborne Surveys interpretation method
and leads to a comprehensive understanding of the structural history and geological
evolution of an area - a vital part of any exploration or landcare management
program.
Fugro Airborne Surveys' specialised
PC-based HEM processing software allows the production of a complete suite of
geophysical products in the field. In-field processing and map production capability
ensures compliance with the detailed and strict Fugro Airborne Surveys standards
with respect to the calibration, acquisition and processing of airborne gamma-ray
survey data and facilitates production of quick and accurate preliminary results.
As the Fugro Airborne Surveys field software system is identical to that used
in our worldwide processing centres, field QC, processing and plotting can be
passed onto the office for final processing and plotting seamlessly and efficiently.
Non-Exclusive Data
Fugro Airborne Surveys houses the most comprehensive,
privately owned, non-exclusive airborne geophysical database.
The database equates to approximately 10,500,000 line kilometres (6,500,000
line miles) worldwide. Data may be licensed for entire surveys or for specific
areas of interest. Land gravity data is also available through Fugro Airborne
Surveys. Data can be licensed for entire surveys
or customised for specific areas of interest.
