Helicopter-borne Towed Bird Vertical Magnetic Gradiometer System
Introduction
Fugro Airborne Surveys now offers the industry-leading helicopter towed-bird vertical magnetic gradiometer system. This system contains two high sensitivity cesium vapour magnetometer sensors with a 2 metre separation. The system is very stable in a vertical position during flight at speeds normally encountered during surveying.
Advantages
It can be used with lightweight helicopters, such as Bell 206B Jet Ranger.
The magnetometer sensors have a 2 metre sensor separation.
The rigid Kevlar construction includes tubing throughout the assembly to ensure stability.
DGPS positioning for the gradiometer bird is available.
Drag skirt assembly provides directional stability for the bird.
